Why Is It?

Just over six years ago, I bought myself a laptop. It got messed up throughout the years. The first battery was worthless within the first year, the keyboard area of the laptop has been dropped bumped so many times that the nice looking cover might come off if I pulled hard enough, the screen is bleached at the bottom for some reason (I'm guessing from the heat it generated), it heats up so much it keeps me warm all winter, the mouse pad's clicks are just "no" now so a USB mouse is vital, it now creaks as I move it around (go figure), it got messed up when I tried upgrading from 4 to 8GB of RAM but came back out on top, the hard drive gave up on me but allowed me to copy everything before finally kicking the bucket... And with the new hard drive, it still works fantastic, albeit occasionally slowly because it's almost full by now.

Then there's my newer desktop. A real beauty. I bought it about two years ago, investing a modest amount into it. The operating system is installed on a solid state drive instead of a hard disk drive, I forked in 16GB of RAM for good measure, Radeon 7900 for beautiful 1080p HD graphics without going NVIDIA levels of expensive, and to top that off, put in a 2TB drive for games, because fuck money. From "turn on" to "logged in", it's ready in roughly 8 seconds. Nothing physically wrong every happened to it, not even the traditional "love tap" people give to computers to get them working properly.

Now that we know the two computers, let's talk about how they react to malware and viruses.

Anytime I notice that Mr Fancy New Desktop gets a single possibly infectious file that might moderately alter a small part of the performance in very specific conditions, the computer nearly dies on the spot. Nothing goes right, and I spend hours or even days trying to get things figured out and fixed. Along that process, I usually get two or three more viruses that need to be taken care of. It usually happens during Steam downloads for some reason.

On the other hand, in the rare occasions that I feel like scanning for viruses on Creaky Ol' Faithful, it pops up about a dozen viruses, just like "If ever you want to take care of this, just know that you can. I won't change much if whether you leave them here or get rid of them. Just letting you know that I'm definitely infected." I never really know when nor how my laptop gets infected, because I never notice that it is infected.

Why is my desktop so fragile and my laptop so robust? It makes no sense...

Anyhow, just letting you guys know I'm not dead. My mental health doesn't agree after the turmoils of the past three days of messing around trying to get rid of that GOD DAMN FUCKING VIRUS PIECE OF SHIT WHICH WOULD NOT PISS THE FUCK OFF MY COMPUTER, YOU MOTHERFUCKER HAD ME GO THROUGH A FUCKING SYSTEM RESTORE TWICE FOR THIS SHIT ONLY TO NOTICE THAT YOU WERE SOMEHOW ALREADY GONE BUT HAD FUCKED UP THAT ONE FUCKING PROGRAM WHICH TOOK THE REST OF THE TIME TO GET WORKING RIGHT!!! AND I'M STILL NOT SURE IT'S FUCKING FIXED!!!

...yeah.

That's it for now. Later, guys!

Update.
That "fucked up" program was Microsoft Security Essentials. Kind of important program, if you ask me. I just checked that everything worked fine, but I doubt it does. Unless almost 5 million files had somehow magically vanished from my computer, it only scanned through under 200 000 files. About 5% of my files left? That doesn't seem right. I hope I didn't catastrophically fuck shit up worse than before.

It makes sense. It's like my old Mennonite grandmother, compared to my young cousin. Cousin is beautiful, graceful, healthier, faster, stronger, more successful, can handle doing many more things at one time, etc etc etc.

Throw some sickness in there, my grandmother will survive anything while my cousin goes down in minutes over a small cold lol

Do I sound crazy?? Yup I sound crazy...anyway, missed you :)
